Meet David

David MacFarlane is a master hairstylist with over 30 years of experience and the owner of Running With Scissors Mobile Hair Salon. David has been awarded numerous styling accolades throughout his career including being named a Gold Winner in the Halifax Star Metro Readers' Choice Awards. David's work has been featured in local and national media including a makeover series on CTV Atlantic and the national broadcast of “Good Morning Canada!"

Outside of work, you can find David with his husband of over 25 years, Neville, where they own and operate their floral and retail gift shop in Halifax, My Mother’s Bloomers. David is also a local Guitarist and Vocalist, specializing in Classical and Maritime Folk.

About Running With Scissors

A master hairstylist for over 30 years, David MacFarlane decided that at age 60 he would begin his freelance career. However, the beginning of 2020 had other plans as hair salons across Nova Scotia shut down due to the pandemic. As restrictions eased, David saw an opportunity to launch a mobile hair salon that would provide his clients with a luxurious and safe at-home salon experience.
